Charles G. Rodriguez, Ph.D.
Charles Rodriguez is the Assistant Vice President of University Relations at the
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Rodriguez
also serves as the Deputy Director of the Center for Public Health Preparedness
and Biomedical Research. Previously, he served for four years at the Hispanic
Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) as Vice President of Development
and as HACU's Interim President in 1995-1996. Earlier, he was Development Vice
President at The Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio and Vice President of
Institutional Advancement at Grace College and Seminary in Winona Lake, Indiana.
His educational marketing, public relations and fund raising career began in 1985
as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at Wheaton College in Wheaton,
Illinois. Prior to that he served for eight years as an active duty commissioned
U.S. Army officer with the 101st Air Assault Division (KY) and the 1st Armored
Division in Germany. He is currently a Brigadier General with the Texas Army
National Guard and Assistant Adjutant General for Homeland Defense of the Joint
Forces Headquarters, Texas Military Forces.
Dr. Rodriguez has an electrical engineering bachelor's degree from the U.S. Military Academy, a Master of Arts degree in communications research from Wheaton College, a Master of Business Administration degree from Keller Graduate School in Chicago, Illinois, and a Ph.D. in Philanthropic Leadership from The Union Institute.
Charles Rodriguez, who prefers to be called Chuck, has been married to Cappy Ann (Prevost) for 28 years and has two children, a married son and a daughter who is a student at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has resided in San Antonio since 1994.
